He owes his success to his master, Panditji, who has taught him music from his boyhood. . Amar does not forget Panditji and his daughter, Rekha, in his good days. He invites them to stay with him and his Mamaji, his guardian. Rekha looks after Amar with much sincerity and devotion. Although Amar treats her with affection, it is different with Rekha. She is deeply in love with him but she reveals this to none. Amars Mamaji however discovers Rekhas feelings for Amar and is glad about it. He advises Rekha that she should tell Amar. Rekha modestly avoids this conversation and says that he will know the truth in time. . Amar works very hard, day and night. His success brings him fame and money but it begins to affect his health. One day, while rehearsing music with Panditji and Rekha, he faints. Mamaji advises him not to overstrain but he pays little attention. . Rekha gets a shock one day when Amar brings an attactive girl, Anita home just as Panditji and Mamaji are discussing Rekhas marriage with Amar.
